Major tunnelling projects among winners at CCF WA Earth Awards

Three major underground infrastructure projects were among the winners at the Civil Contractors Federation WA’s annual Earth Awards for excellence in civil construction

Finally, the Earth Award for projects between $2m and $5m went to the Baldivis Stillwater Drive Type 350 Pump Station.

Completed by DJ MacCormick Contractors, this project featured custom fabricated formwork, with an integrated safety platform, which allowed working on each liner from the middle of the caisson up to the final pour height.

DJ MacCormick Contractors completes seven drives on Iron Bridge Project

DJ MacCormick Contractors has completed the twin crossings of Humes 1000 mm reinforced concrete jacking pipe in Port Hedland, Western Australia.

To complete the project, DJ MacCormick Contractors utilised the Iseki closed face slurry shield microtunnelling system. Ground conditions on site were in wet clay and at depths that ranged from 4 m to 6 m cover.

DJ MacCormick Contractors complete 234m drive for 800mm reinforced concrete jacking pipe

DJ Mac Cormick Contractors have undertaken one of the longest non-man entry single drives for an 800mm diameter closed face slurry shiels micro tunneling project, with no man entry available for installing intermediate jacking statins or slurry pumps. 

In the past, the company has done 360m & 330m drives for 1650 pipes.

The project was completed on behalf of the City of Swan, located in the eastern metropolitan region of Perth in Western Australia.
